a page(s) for all seasons

I was playing around with these prints of Ellie that I edited on Picnik with two different effects.  I love the round of her cheek there - do you see it?  So precious!!

This first one uses Becky Fleck's current sketch for her A Page For All Seasons contest.  It's an awesome sketch for such a strong photo.  Not much explanation necessary (except for gushing over Gina K's Pure Luxury cardstock, but you've heard that all before!).

This second one was a total labor of love!  I started out going with the simplicity of the Hambly Wings paper and overlay to go with the whimsical feel of the photo..... and then it all went high-maintenance from there!!  LOL!

I wanted to sew on the transparent butterflies like I usually do, but I didn't have the exact floss color that I wanted... so it seemed easy enough to sew them on using this sweet lace ribbon trim.  Totally NOT easy!  The ribbon edges did not like going through the needle hole, but I stuck with it anyway.

And then I decided that each butterfly on the overlay needed a little bling.  I don't know why, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.  So my fingers are still calloused from squeezing the tweezers so tight to place the teeny-tiny rhinestones just right!!  But I do love how it turned out.  And, even if I'm the only one who truly appreciates the time and energy that went into it, it's still worth it.

I hope you enjoy them, too.  I could apologize for days about the flat, gray photos of the projects, but I've given up waiting for any good sunshine lighting!  So, you really need to use your imagination to see the energy of the pages :)  (And don't forget that you can always click on the images to see them better.  Thanks for checking them out!)
