{bella birds apron for mum}

I took the So Shelli.com Creative Challenge! For those of you who don't know, Shelli Gardner is one of the founders of Stampin' Up! (and the CEO!), and she has issued a fun challenge on her blog to create something that honors mothers (in preparation for Mother's Day!).

So, since I still had all of my apron-making supplies out, and the dimensions were fresh in my brain, I thought it would be fun to make one of those paper aprons for my mum. She loves yellow and birds and flowers, so the Bella Birds papers were a no-brainer. I think she'll like it for its prettiness, but she'll also be able to use it to hold her sketch pencils when she's well enough to take them up again.

If you'd like to make your own, please see the instructions from Saturday's post. And please let me know if you have any questions! I changed a few things with this one. Used cardstock as the backing and added some buttons and stitches at the waist for a little more durability; added some stamping and a rub-on before assembling; and added some buttons and felt flowers just for cuteness :)

And there will still be one more apron before I move on to other projects. Ellie really wants her own now, more than ever! LOL

my constant companion

I've been itching to use these Basic Grey Eva chipboard accents since the day that I received them as part of the compensation from Scrapbook Trends for having my little Easter Brunch Invitation published in the "You're Invited" idea book. When I saw this week's sketch from Tamara, I knew this was the time!! :)

Just a little Ellie page. She and I have been pretty inseparable these last four years. It's only recently that she has started a bit of preschool, and I'm still getting used to not having my shadow each day.
